Wedding quilt
I saw a quilt on Ahhhquilting.blogspot.com and thought it was great idea to make my son a wedding quilt like it. There isn't a pattern for it, but pretty easy to figure out just by looking at it. The fabric I used is Moda Simply Style by Vanessa Christensen. The long arm quilting was done by quiltingismybliss.blogspot.com and I think the pattern is called "crop circles". Love it! Enjoy the pics and if you want any measurements of the block, here they are:
White center of "coin slot" - 8 1/2" X 4 1/2"
Print sides - 8 1/2" X 2 1/2"
White block between coin block - 8 1/2" X 8 1/2"
White Sashing strips - 4 1/2" X length of quilt

Folk Tale
So it has been 8 months since I last blogged.... I have a thing for Instagram lately because I am not a writer. Its so easy to post pics of quilts and not feel like you have to do much explaining about it :)
However, I do love this latest baby quilt I made for Callie Rasmussen...
I took a short cut for the side squares with sashing - cut sashing 1 1/2 X WOF, cut print 5" X WOF and sew these 2 strips together. With wrong sides together (before ironing), cut at 5" intervals. Then iron.. This will give you 8 squares with sashing out of one print.
Feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for stopping by!

Oh Baby!
Last night I went to another baby shower and made this stroller quilt. The size is 32" x 32", perfect to fit in a stroller and not overhang to get caught up in the wheels. I used a pattern out of the "Love Patchwork & Quilting" magazine, issue 3. It was the first issue I have purchased, maybe the last. Why?? Twelve dollars for a magazine issue... wow... sealed up in plastic so you couldn't browse through it. Might as well buy a pattern I really love instead.. Just sayin..
Hope this quilt is a warm welcome into the world for baby girl Everly Browne!
The block includes 2 1/2 " sqs, 3" sqs, 5" sqs, 2 1/2 x various lengths -- 4 1/2", 6 1/2" |
4 blocks to make 1 bigger block |
block assembled |
quilt layout - fabric I used Heather Ross Briar Rose, Pearl Bracelets by Lizzy House and the green is Pam Kitty Morning Ping Pong 2 |
Finished quilt front - binding is Moda Simply Color, FMQ is just horizontal waves in pink |
Back of the quilt - did a little math to get an exact size to match the front - a nine patch variation |
